A thick 17 mm core is what makes this paddle so quiet on touch shots — the ball sinks into the face and comes off exactly as fast as you tell it to, which is the whole point in a dink exchange. The 12k raw carbon weave adds the surface texture that grabs the ball for spin. At 243 g with a 228 mm balance, the mass sits low enough to stay quick in your hand.
